Go Vikings!

Last weekend, the WWU men's basketball team hosted a tournament, so we decided to take the girls to the game. Lexi LOVED the pep band. "Mommy, can I go see the banjo (band) again?" She danced, cheered right along with the fans and ate her share of popcorn. Alyssa....well, she slept through the cheering fans and loud music. She did wake for a brief while to have a little bit of milk! We had a great time!

The smallest Viking fan at the game refuels for optimum energy!

Lexi insisted on wearing piggy tails "like the viking"!

She loved Vic the Viking from afar.

She is sitting on the court at half time in front of the band, just watching and dancing.

GO WESTERN!!!
And a few of Alyssa this past week.....

Sacked out on Daddy's lap.

After her first bath in the kitchen sink!

Hanging out in the crib!

Home from a long and tiring shopping trip to the mall!

Such a sweet face.

Do I look like my Daddy in this picture or what?

Settling in!

It is hard to believe that Alyssa is already 2 weeks old. As of today, she weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces! She is growing perfectly!
We have been blessed to have much family and friends around to welcome Alyssa and give big sister Lexi lots of attention! Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa, Grammy and Papa, Uncle Adam, Auntie Rachel and Uncle Nick for coming up from Vancouver to visit. We look forward to more time together. We feel so lucky to have two healthy and beautiful girls. Our family feels complete now, life is good.

Grandma meeting Alyssa for the first time!

Grandma and Grandpa are in love again!

So peaceful on Daddy's chest (insert hairy chest Chris joke here).

Does it get any sweeter than that?

Grammy and Lexi snuggling together after Lexi's nap.

What?

Sacked out after a big meal.

Lexi loves her "baby stister" and has been full of hugs and kisses since she arrived. The other day they were laying together on the floor in the living room and I heard Lexi turn to Alyssa and say "I like you." It was the sweetest thing ever.

Just hangin' out on the floor!

Lexi has turned into a big helper. She will throw diapers away, help burp Alyssa , give her the pacifier and sing to her if she's crying. She mimicks how we talk to Alyssa. Today when Alyssa was fussy, she went over to her and said "What's the matter sweetie?" How can it be that my baby has suddenly become the big and grown up one? They grow up so fast, it is such a reminder to us to cherish these times...even when we are sleep deprived. :)

We're Home!

We are home with our two beautiful daughters! Alyssa will be one week old tomorrow and already we can't imagine our life without her here. She is a very sweet and mild mannered baby (so far!). Lexi loves her sister and is very interested in being a helper. She also is choosing this time to exert her independence...deep breath! Grammy Sue has been here since Alyssa's birth to help out with everything. We feel so lucky to have her here and think she should quit her day job to be our nanny!

Lexi helping Alyssa get ready for her first car ride.

We're headed home! Hard to tell, but it was snowing outside.

Being 2 days old is such hard work...

Sweet dreams, baby.

Lexi asked if she could share her bunny with Alyssa. NOBODY ever gets to have bunny. She must really love her sister.
