Introducing Alyssa Raeann Roselli!

Life is good! At 12:37am on February, 24, 2009, Alyssa Raeann Roselli was born! The delivery went very well, Alyssa is healthy, and is doing just great. We couldn't feel happier and more blessed. Lexi has already met Alyssa and loves what she sees. So do we! We'll be at the hospital until Wednesday, February 25 just hanging with our girl and spending some quality time together. Of course, visitors are always welcome. Life IS good!

A Mish Mash of Stuff!

It's been busy around our house the last week or so. Here is an overview of what's been happening! No baby yet, but lots of other things...

Helping with "clean up" after making pink Rice Krispie Treats for Valentine's Day

Yummy!

Lexi's collection of valentines from her friends at Katrina's house.

What a silly family I have.

On Valentine's Day, Lexi was invited to a party at Bellingham Bay Gymnastics by our friends the Singletarys. She had a great time on the balance beam, bars, mats and zip line. Of course it was all concluded with cupcakes decorated with candy and balloons to take home. What a fun party. Thanks for the invite Katie Ray!

A tea party with Anya Winter after eating cupcakes.

In an effort to prep the yard for spring, Chris ordered a load of both dirt and bark dust. He spent all day today spiffing up the flower beds. Lexi spent the day climbing up the piles and digging in the dirt.

Stay tuned for baby updates.....think soon, very soon.

On the Home Stretch!!!

Here we are about 10 days away from meeting Alyssa. It's funny how things are different when it is the second time around. When we were expecting Lexi, EVERYTHING was done months in advance: the room, clothes washed and put away, carseat properly fastened in the car and diapers out and ready. This time...we're just now (10 days before) putting some of the finishing touches on the nursery. It all gets done, right? Here are some updates of the nursery and a drawing Lexi did last night of what we thought was a person. Instead, she named it Cow 2 (Cow 1 had been drawn minutes before). Being the teacher mommy that I am, I was quite impressed with her developmental ability to have all of the body parts in the right spot. Sure, the arms come out of the head...so what! Check out the shoes...that's my girl!

I call this "Cow 2"

Lexi has been practicing putting Baby Ally in the car seat.

We're going with a flower theme this time. Thanks Erin for coming over to paint these adorable flowers for us!

Thanks Grammy for doing the curtains for us, they turned out great!

We've ordered a bookshelf to go under Alyssa's name along this wall. Should be here soon.

Feels like we just put the crib away...it's baaaaaaack!

Great thing about 2 girls, can re-use the same bedding!

Yay! We're almost there. Can't wait to meet you Alyssa!

Such a big Girl!

Lexi has shifted into big girl mode in the last week...all on her own doing, I might add. She is no longer interested in anyone helping her get dressed, go to the potty or make her bed. She is excited to do all of these things by herself! Yesterday and the day before, Lexi got up before I did. When I wandered out of our room, I found her in the bathroom with her nighttime Pull Up off, jammies off, going potty all by herself! Wow! In addition, last week we switched from wearing Pull Ups during the day to wearing big girl panties! Seems like small beans? Not to us. After 2 1/2 years of changing diapers and dealing with bulky Pull Ups, we are happy to say goodbye to these items and hello to big girl panties...oh yeah, in 3 weeks we go back to diapers! Well, a short break is better than nothing.

Doesn't she look grown up?

Her first day wearing "big girl panties" all day long. We made a huge deal of it!
